The data center industry in Thailand is currently in a crucial period of transformation: After experiencing explosive growth driven by the AI wave, the government abruptly applied the "brake" in September 2026, marking that the industry is shifting from "wild growth" to "high-quality and sustainable coordinated development".

Despite short-term policy adjustments, the long-term outlook for the Thai data center market remains positive. In the first half of 2026, investments related to AI and data centers reached approximately 886 billion Thai baht (about 27 billion US dollars). Global giants such as AWS, Google, Microsoft, TikTok, and Alibaba Cloud have all made large-scale deployments in Thailand.

The demand for data centers in Thailand not only comes from the external demand from places like Singapore, but is also based on its own large-scale digital economy (such as finance, e-commerce, online video, etc.). At the same time, as an ASEAN hub, Thailand is expected to radiate to surrounding markets such as Vietnam and the Philippines.
